| I had a call from the DLA office this morn, much to my suprise and they asked me to confirm that T had been admitted into hospital as his GP had told them this and when did this happen. I confirmed this for her and told her he was in hospital for 4 days in total and this was due to him being a danger to himself and others.
Im pleased to know they have spoke with medical professionals now because i know for a fact they didnt before, hence why i asked them to reasses my claim. She then said that they were looking at my claim today and i would hear from them within 10 days with a decision, im hoping & praying i get it
I have to get taxi's so much with T and im finding it really hard financially to cope with the extra expenses for Ts needs. _________________ Northern lass born & bred!

| Forgive me if I get this wrong Bambi, but are you saying that you don't already get DLA?
It's just that we do, and there was no problem with it at all. They didn't need to contact me or anything and C 'only' seems to have PDA.
If we get it, then surely you have to! |

| No worries, i applied for DLA before xmas last yr and they said i couldnt get it as they didnt see T as any more work than a 'normal' child of his age, yeah right! they dont know T! So i had to appeal and i asked them to contact the medical professionals involved in Ts life.
I was disgusted at their initial decision hence why i appealled but i have been told its quite common, its so wrong that we have to fight for EVERYTHING! _________________ Northern lass born & bred! |

| I cannot believe how difficult things for you are relatively easy for me down here.....
Is it a regional thing? It shouldn't be....but if not, then what?
We've been getting DLA since January (I think) and it was plain sailing.
T's conditions throw up far more challenges for you than C's do for me (although every time you talk about him, I see Charlotte but just a 'watered down' version!), so how can they say he doesn't need more help?
It's madness....I'm actually quite lost for words as to what to say.... |

Its the new tax year now so they better had sort this out, every time i take T to see Paed its £40 just to do that and its killing me. _________________ Northern lass born & bred! |

| That's outrageous! How is anyone expected to be able to afford that? Move to Surrey is about all I can say....We have everything that you do, but the difference is: OURS WORK!! Oooh, I'm really cross now.... |

| Bambi....
You know that you can claim back travel expenses to hospitals etc??
They have a booklet in my local doctors surgery, maybe yours has too? If not, then let me know and I'll get one up to you.... |
