Due to Charlotte's bolting behaviour and the subsequent violence and aggression I have arranged with school (since the end of Jan this year) that she should be collected by me a few minutes early so that she doesn't get overwhelmed at the end of the day.

This has worked brilliantly, the meltdowns after school have stopped and while she isn't always happy ('cos she had a bad day or whatever) she a lot happier than she was.

So this morning I get a surprise IEP telling me that school ...

the health visitor came around today to disscus DD's behaviour, she read the behaviour diary i have kept for 2 weeks.

she has decided to refer us to senco & they r gonna come asses DD in skool the they will decided if we get refered to the community ped.

she asked me to say to DD wen she jumps all over my sofa, sorry OUR sofa, to say to DD please don't do that to OUR sofa otherwise you mite break it & OUR friends wont be able to stay over on it, like my child understands that. i tried ...

My cousin comes over some weekends with her kids, and to give her a break I try to take the pressure of her with the kids, but am finding it increasingly hard, her daughter will only respond to a certain tone of voice when she has been naughty, I can't put her on my naughty step as it is too near to things she shouldn't touch, so I put her in a corner facing away, but she see's this as a game and is often laughing, so instead of the 1 minute for every year she ends up staying ...

mixing up words

Carnt belive Im posting this, seems not to long ago I would have been happy with any speech. Recently dd has been mixing up her sentences the main one is she will say "do u want to" instead of "will u" eg do u want to make my bed" instead of "will u make my bed" I know what she means but to anyelse it sounds like shes asking a question instead of asking for help. Has anyone elses child done this? If so how did u overcome it?

I have been dreading this.

School are starting to take the children swimming next month, and frankly I have got my knickers in a twist over it all!

I am extremely keen that C gets 1:1 supervision at all times (well, initially anyway) as she has never been swimming, obviously therefore CAN'T swim and has never even seen a swimming pool as they are incredibly noisy busy places and she can't cope with noisy busy places at all.

I can't help her with this one as I have a medical condition ...

Well my little fella is doing really well but I have my concerns, I dont think theres any signs of autism, promised myself I wouldnt be winding myself up looking but carnt help myself. My concern is that he shouts at people for attention and sticks out his bottom lip if he dosent get it, he does this to dd and she sometimes says hello but needs prompting so he can be yelling away and she will be oblivious. Hi guys

Well as u all know T is absolutely footy mad! the children on our street play for a local team so i enquired about T getting on the team. We eventually went along to a training session, they liked him and then he got to play a game for them last week.

T did so well that he scored a goal!!!! i was soooooooooooooooooo proud of him and he was so happy bless him, we talked about it non stop and still do but hey its all positive and it will do him the world of good.

In our house it's a nightmare.

I cannot get C dressed for love nor money. I know why she can't do it, but I simply don't know how to get her to understand that it's necessary.

All last week I bribed her with a cuddly toy of her choice (cuddly toys are her obsession) and, unsurprisingly, as the week progressed she became less and less motivated to get dressed. So that didn't work.

Previously I have tried buying bribes in the form of favourite food (NOT sweeties!!) or the Blessed ...

Toothpaste

Has anyone got any advice regards toothpaste?

C detests mint (I'm with her there!) and will only use the "Milk Teeth" strawberry flavoured toothpaste.

Now her dentist is telling me that she needs a toothpaste with a higher flouride content, which I fully appreciate, but they don't seem to make it in any flavour other than the dreaded mint!

There is NO WAY I can do as she suggested which is mix a little mint with the strawberry. C can spot it at 100 paces!

I have cancelled 2 appointments with CAHMS recently one because it was at 1.30pm on a Friday and I have to collect C from school at 2pm (they leave early on a Friday) and the other because my father died and I simply didn't feel like talking to an totally ineffective person who has no experience with PDA.....

So, I get a letter from them telling me that if I don't respond by the 29th of Feb, they will return my file to the GP and close C's case.

Can they do this? I mean just because ...

Well T has an appointment to see the optician on Friday at 1.10pm and have his eyes tested. It will disrupt his playing out time wiht his friends but i have thought about using him having a McDs as a treat and maybe taking his friend who he plays with often with us, ironically he also has to wear glasses and i think it may help matters.

OK i had another meeting with CAMHS and their conculsion is that T does not have a developmental problem, his problems are nothing but behavioural and his environment needs changing.

They then went on to say that they would see me and only me so that we could try out different strategies to see what works to stop the behaviours. If T has no PDD as they said on many occaisions, what strategies for what difficulties do they intend to use? im guessing it would be strategies that they suggest ...

I am now unemployed, after a couple of meetings with work (which Grandma attended with me) they have finally decided to terminate my contract as I can't give them a time scale for when I will be back to work, I am so happy they have finally come to this conclusion, but scared aswell as this is the first time I have been unemployed since I was 15.

Hopefully I might even get my funding for my holistic therapies course (fingers crossed)

Had a meeting on Friday and i can say that i was pleased with how it went

He talked to me in depth about language Impairment to which he agreed T has with the reports he has read and what info i have given him, including reports from ALL previous schools.

He said what makes things difficult here is we need to tease out if there is an ASD also and then he talked to me indepth about co-morbid diagnosis' this guy really knows his stuff! He talked about other experiences he had encountered ...

Ok we had the NHS SaLT appointment yesterday afternoon and i did not get time to come post as it was another hectic day, anyhow she assessed him with mutiple choice picture questions and he did do well. However she witnessed his swearing, kicking some plastic food about like it is a football, he pulled my hair and he got up several times while trying to do the work with him.

T has just told me (during getting him ready for bed) that he had water thrown in his face in the toliets today, he does not know the boy's name nor what year he is in.

T was in loo's with another boy from his class called A, another boy T does not know comes in there and T being T said to him 'hello treacle sponge' becuase T said this, the boy put is hands under the running tap and ...

Well my solicitor had a call from the legal sevices saying good news T is at school, he has a 1-1 with the BIB worker and they are doing baseline tests on T.

Solicitor has asked for all this to be put in writing and sent to her asap, she asked him what is a BIB worker? he replied 'i dont know'

Im guessing its Mrs *** who use to come to the house to try coax T to school but i was under the impression her title was a Behavioural Support Worker. We will soon know when we get the details ...
